with the brotherhood. No bills were submitted.
The financial report was read by Karen Favero. Edith Sorensen is
on the mend and Patti Olsen reported on her mother, Ruth, who returned
home today, we wish you both well, ladies! Irene reported that Kay
Wight is doing well and keeping busy with her pet parakeet named Feisty
who resides in the lobby and is a beautiful bird that will greet all
visitors as well as residents. Kay collects donations for Orion Youth
center all year round and continues on known for the trail mix she
supplies them.
Congratulations to Dina who has become temporary mom (for a year) to
Katarina, who is 15 ½ years old. Katrina is a foreign exchange student

look forward to meeting her.

BOWLING
TOURNAMENT:
Five bowling teams from Seattle traveled to Vancouver for the annual
District Tournament on March 7. Thank you to the Canadians for
organizing another fun weekend. About 170 people were in attendance
for for Kroaften on Friday evening including 14 of our bowlers who
enjoyed the over 500 delicious open faced sandwiches made by the
Prægels. WOW! Saturday noon at the bowling alley was social time
enjoying coffee and Danish pastry provided by District DB President
Egon Calundann and then the “seriousness” began. Much fun was had
by all despite a few unfortunate spills taken by a few—fortunately
no serious injuries. After bowling we enjoyed more yummy Prægel
smørrebrød and awarding of prizes. See results elsewhere. Mange Tak
Vancouver!! Next year’s tournament will be hosted by Seattle on
Sat. March 13, 2010. We hope more new faces will join us for
practices starting in January.
Thank you to the great support from this year’s
participants. Lexie Sorensen, Bowling chairman.
