ØLMÆND 1st PLACE 2ND PLACE SEATTLE DANESBOWLING TOURNAMENT AND DB BIRTHDAY PARTY: March 10, Seattle hosted a day of friendly rivalry with the BC Danes. Festivities began at noon socializing over coffee and
delicious Danish pastry generously donated by Brotherhood District
President Oluf Folkersen. 13 bowlers make the trip south from Vancouver
to join us. At 1pm, serious bowling began with 39 bowlers participating
on 9 teams. After bowling, we helped celebrate Lodge 29’s 119th birthday
with delicious Kro Gryde from IKEA and Citron Fromage made by brother
Max Stavnshøj. Lodge 29 Himmelbjerget scholarship recipients helped
serve dinner and clean up. A big thank you to Thomas Buus’ daughters
Melissa & Kristina, Gert Jacobsen’s granddaughter Peyton, Lodge 29
member Caitlin Larsen, plus DS 40 member Kelley Blackburn for a job well
done. Hurrah for Himmelbjerget training. Between dinner and dessert, the
bowling awards were presented. Many were won by Seattle. Thanks to the
bowlers who supported Sunday practice sessions. We hope to see many more
next year even if you can’t play in a tournament. Thank you Vancouver
bowlers for traveling to Seattle and for your offer to host next year.
